The Role:
Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, the post holder will be accountable for providing front line electrical engineering support to the operations site based teams and technical discipline input to the projects teams.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Provides daily electrical engineering support to the area operations team and is the first point of contact for any electrical engineering query from the operations team
* Provide support related to electrical engineering and non specialist materials & welding issues
* Supports delivery of process safety, integrity and environmental performance of the area.
* Ensures the electrical engineering information is up to date in the area risk register including actions and due dates
* Actively participate in / support the management of change process.
* Provide technical guidance / input to operational procedures as appropriate
* Ensure electrical engineering documents are up to date
* Perform non-specialist routine electrical engineering calculations in support of the asset.
* Ensure work is planned and undertaken in accordance with industry standards / practices
* Provide technical input to the Maintenance team as requested
* Lead equipment failure investigations and present findings / repair options with recommendations to management.
* Actively participate in continuous improvement
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Regular visits to both landline and offshore sites.
* Job holder may be required to be part of the FPS IMT (formal rota).
* Periods of inconvenience to support planned and unplanned outages
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree Qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar.
* Chartered Electrical Engineer or working towards chartered status
* Good working knowledge of offshore / onshore asset operations
* Good working knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
* Good working knowledge of project management and execution.
* Experience of process safety aspects of design and operation.
* Experience of process design, commissioning and plant operation.
* Proven people and technical leadership skills.
* High level of communication skills, dealing with all levels in the organisation.
* Ability to coach engineers and mentor junior engineers and interns.
* Ability to work effectively with external agencies, e.g. SEPA, HSE, Design Contractors, suppliers, etc.
