The Role:
* Co-ordinate and control the daily operation of machine shop personnel so as to provide a safe, secure and efficient working environment.
* Control, direct and monitor, machine shop resources, operations and facilities in order to adhere to project/programme schedules.
* Manage and direct a team of skilled and technically based individuals, through sound personnel practices.
* Identification of training needs and coaching alongside departmental succession planning.
* Continuously review machining procedures and capability in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods and make recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
* Review tooling use and suppliers in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods.
* Monitor and report progress through daily & weekly production meetings and notify any predicted shortfall or discrepancies against planned programme

The Company:
Our client is a international company involved in the manufacturing of various production materials to the Oil & Gas industry. Due to recently won projects, they are looking to recruit an experienced Machine Shop Manager.The role entails managerial responsibility for a department of 35 employees, including 2 supervisors, working closely with the team to ensuring that they meet a number of KPI's that include manufacturing efficiency, quality improvement, waste reduction and on-time delivery. Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Extensive CNC background in a precision engineering production environment
* Demonstrate experience of leading and managing a team who work on various shift patterns
* Experience with planning, estimating and reporting
* Excellent organisational and planning skills
* Strong team player with the ability to influence others and lead a team
* Strong Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
* Understanding of CAD
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (in English)
* Thorough understanding of Health and Safety requirements within the workplace
* Possess a sound understanding of modern manufacturing methods and assembly techniques and demonstrable experience of continuous improvement and (LEAN) principles
* Experience of Oil & Gas Industry
* Set targets, deadlines and objectives for each member of the team
* Undertake appraisals and performance reviews as and when required, highlighting training and development needs and ensuring these are deliver
