The Role:
This position reports directly to the Lead Drilling & Engineering New Wells.
This position is primarily accountable for assigning fit for purpose equipment to ensure integrity of well construction. As such, he must maintain records and prepare documentation necessary to meet operational and regulatory requirements and at the same time coordinate all inspection and certification services on equipment and materials pertaining to drilling and completion in line with company and industry standards.
1. Health Safety Environment − Ensure all other HSE requirements are followed during equipment preparation, inspection and certification − Ensure that company safety standard is maintained in all worksites. 2. Drilling Operation preparation and monitoring − Work with drilling and completion engineers to develop & confirm equipment specifications. − Ensure equipment specifications are compliant with all combined load cases seen throughout life of well − Provide assistance in material selection − Work on design and qualification of equipment − Prepare Contract Management Plans for each of the major wells contracts, manage the tracking of contractors performance and drive contractor performance, raise any high risk concerns with the Companywell engineering management − Actively contribute to Company wells risk register − Ensure all vendor documentation is verified and in place in accordance with engineering specifications − Monitor the execution of inspection assignments to ensure all expediting, progress measurement and verification activities are performed in accordance with the specified requirements including the control of costs and the quality of reporting − Review and approve supplier documentation including quality plans, inspection and test plans, manufacturing and welding procedures, inspection and test procedures and manufacturing records − Hold and maintain a NCR register, review NCR's and reach satisfactory close-out of NCR's with vendors − Prepare failure investigation reports, assist in root cause investigation and close out − Assist with any ITT preparation and reviews − Track equipment deliveries and re-order when required to ensure no delay in operations − Where appropriate, provide input to major accident hazard management, in particular the prevention, detection, control, mitigation and response to major accidents 3. Additional job roles − Lead important engineering studies to optimize equipment availability and stock management − Mentor other young well engineers − Ensure any industry good practices are adopted − Provide assistance in development of Well Integrity Management System (WIMS) − Provide technical assistance during well construction
Profile Required
6 - 10 years Drilling Engineering experience Communication skills, adaptability Mandatory training as per HSE training matrix
