The Role:
This position reports directly to the Head of Drilling & Wells Engineering.
Accountabilities:
This position is primarily accountable for delivering the engineering of the new wells. As such he must be acting as a leader to deliver engineering studies in close collaboration with RG and to develop well concepts that are creating value to the company. Conversely he also must ensure that safe and sound engineering practices are applied, in order to have operations that are safely executed safely and in the respect of the budgets and of the planning.
Activities:
1/ Masters Company safety standards and procedure to ensure sound and safe design is embedded. Collaborate with HSE division in that perspective. Contribute to the SIMOPS dossier preparation and the risk assessments. Deliver pre-phase meetings onboard rig or in Visio conference to ensure in depth understanding of the well programs and the risk mitigations identified.
2/ Lead the Well Scope Of Work process for DW to ensure on time and in budget delivery of all new well drilling
3/ Elaborate the detail design of the wells and the detailed procedure. Select the equipment, the services and define the associated budget. Write the well specific drilling programs
4/ follow Company DW rigs operation and ensure they are conducted in line with the operational programs and Company procedure. Ensure that Drilling Improvement Process is implemented and effective, making use of the real Time Support Center.
5/ Propose technological innovations, participate in R&D projects if required.
6/ Prepare the DW procurement plan to support the new wells. Propose contractual strategy. Conduct the Call For Tenders for drilling services, prepare the ITT documents and perform the evaluations of related drilling contracts. Supervise the work of contractors, planning follow up through with Service Quality Meetings.
7/ Follow up closely the stock of drilling items vs the drilling sequence.
8/ Participate in meetings with authorities and shareholders, preparation of supports and message delivery. Large contribution to the company Reporting.
9/ Mentor younger drilling engineers, develop engineering and project management skills.
10/ Act as the Deputy Head Drilling Engineering
Profile Required
Master in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical engineering.
10- 12 years of proven Drilling Engineering experience in large multicultural organizations
Leadership, communication skills, adaptability - Fluent English
IWCF level 4 - H2S - Bosiet
