The Role:
This position is reporting to the Head of Marine. N+2 is the Logistics Manager.
The role primarily acts as a Marine Technical Authority for the Company and is directly responsible for the development, setting and review marine technical standards as well as vetting, inspection, approval, acceptance and contract management of all floating units within Al Shaheen as per OCIMF and Company requirements.
The role acts as the FSO focal point within Marine Logistics. Providing expert knowledge and operational support to the Field Operations FSO Lead as required.
· Drive an incident free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture
· Contribute to the improvement of safety, security and environment within the framework of company HSEQ policy concerning subsea operations.
· Promote improved safety performance in subsea operations within the industry through an active participation in IMCA and OCIMF and operator working groups.
· Ensure compliance with operating procedures and guidelines within the company operating area to ensure process safety, operational safety and system integrity.
· Be held accountable for area of reasonability
· Lead the development, preparation and review of procedures, guidance manuals, operating instructions and any other documentation deemed necessary to support safe marine activities.
· Provide Head of Marine with regular updates and analysis on vessels and contractors performance and results.
· Establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties, functional teams and partners as required to meet strategic business and operational objectives.
· Contribute to improvements, development and implementation of department activities, processes and procedures.
· Ensure timely identification, preparation, submission and approval of all documentation to authorities, partners or in house as required to support operations.
· Ensure vendor personnel are pre-job briefed onshore and informed about relevant HSE and company Procedures before offshore mobilization
· Act as the focal point within Marine Logistics for the companies FSO terminal operations.
· Develop a strong, trusting relationship with the companies FSO Lead and support teams on and offshore.
· Provide expert marine knowledge and operational support to the Field Operations FSO Lead as required.
· Participate in the review of standard documents and operational guidelines related to FSO Marine Operations.
· Ensure mooring master and ASD tug master competency and training requirements are defined and followed.
· Carry out the technical review and approval of mooring master CV's as per company requirements
· Ensure Marine Dashboard is always kept up to date .
· Participate in weekly review meetings with line manager, ensuring highlights concerns and forward planning is identified and documented.
· Responsible for ensuring that methods and tools are in place for completion of all marine reports and KPI's.
· Represent the company appropriately in accordance with core values when interfacing with stakeholders
· Exhibit financial prudence through the companies MySave initiative.
· Challenge company practices to ensure safe operations are delivered at an acceptable cost.
· Master Mariner or Chief Officer with 15 years relevant industry experience.
· Relevant B.SC. OR Degree Equivalent Certificate (Letter of Equivalency)
· FSO, FPSO or DP Shuttle Tanker Marine Operational experience
· Unlimited DP license
· Strong knowledge and experience in offshore marine operations with a primary focus on
dynamic positioning, vessel inspection, ASD tug and tandem offloading operations
· Experienced technical author capable of producing procedures, guidance manuals, reports,
audit documents, charts, forms, presentations etc. MS Office.
· Flexibility with regards to work location, working hours and ability to travel worldwide, to
Qatar ports and offshore locations
· Fluency in English (speaking and writing)
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to integrate into to an established and diverse team of marine industry professionals
· Ability to identify and deliver solutions to complex and challenging problems
· Able to produce high quality work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
· Good team spirit, communication and reporting skills, well organized, confidentiality,
motivated, reliable and proactive.
· Preferred experience in jack up rig move operations
· Preferred OCIMF Accredited OVID Inspector
· Knowledge of International Marine rules and regulations (IMO, OCIMF, SOLAS, MARPOL).
