The Role:

Primary Purpose / reason to exist of the position within the organization.
Development reservoirs by studying, maturing and proposing for validation drilling of new wells and/or work-over/re-drill opportunities from existing and future slots and as part of ongoing and future field development phases, reserves and resources assessments, and appraisal strategy, focusing in the understanding and description of production mechanisms (water-flooding, gas injection, EOR).

Follow HSE policies with every activity/operation required by the Asset especially reservoir related.
Responsible for day-to-day monitoring of assigned group of wells (producers and injectors), well tests review & requirements, zonal and interference tests, reservoir potential updates and forecasts, liaising with Production Well Performance. Implement the reservoir engineering techniques linked to its activity (decline curve analysis, planning of reservoir engineering related activities, evaluation and interpretation of well tests, material balance, definition and understanding of production mechanisms, production nodal analysis, prediction of production performance and injection, PVT analysis, voidage analysis and management, etc.). Perform the analyses of reservoir data (static and especially dynamic) and syntheses of dynamic data necessary for well and pattern reviews, for optimum pressure conditioning actions to be implemented for drilling of new wells and/or work-over/re-drill opportunities, for optimum
Participate in the synthesis of subsurface data and ensure the consistency of assumptions between the different disciplines (geophysics, geology, reservoir, petrophysics, production technology and data management) and in post-mortems of dynamic performance of new wells and other operational or development studies or activities.
Participate in the construction of the reservoir models (static and dynamic) in close collaboration with the various disciplines (geophysicists, geologists and reservoir specialists), optimizing the modeling of fluid flow according to the heterogeneities and the production mechanisms to be implemented, to end up with history matched sector and possibly full reservoir dynamic models. Carry out modeling of dynamic behavior of reservoirs, dynamic simulations (ECLIPSE/IX), including history matching and uncertainty studies. Integrate the data from existing production, new development and appraisal wells into the working models. Implement specialist studies needed for the development of the reservoir simulations. Participate in the definition and optimization of development schemes and patterns.
Participate in the assessment of associated production and injection reservoir potential forecasts (unconstrained profiles) used as basis in the different forecasting and business exercises: Rolling Forecasts (RoFo), Annual Review of Reserves & Resources (ARR), Long Range Business Plan (LRBP), Field Development Plans (FDP). Participation in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) pilot and their implementation in Field Development, including the required monitoring aspects. Provide relevant data (production and injection profiles and incremental volumes) used for economic evaluations of different projects.Participate in the integration between all disciplines (geophysics, geology, reservoir, petrophysics, production technology and data management) to evaluate uncertainties associated with projects/new wells (1P, 2P, 3P) and implement the necessary uncertainty studies (i.e. experimental design approach). Participate in the definition of the necessary reservoir data acquisitions (PVT fluids, conventional and SCAL, well testing, logs, cores, ...) to characterize and predict reservoir behavior and reduce the uncertainties. Participate in the elaboration, implementation and follow-up of Reservoir Surveillance Plans (RSP) and Reservoir Management Plans (RMP) as per NOC's standards. Participate in preparation, presentation and validation internally and by Shareholders for new wells and/or work-over/re-drill opportunities to be drilled or executed. Contribute to development of internal and external communications within the Reservoir and Petroleum Engineering community.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Level and type of initial higher education
Technical, personal and / or linguistic competencies; Professional or HSE certifications
- Master's degree or bachelor's degree with relevant industry experience in Reservoir or Petroleum Engineering discipline or other relevant technical discipline qualification.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles or related roles in the oil and gas environment.
- Reservoir and geoscience working experience in an operated asset.
- Good experience in reservoir management and monitoring.
- Good experience on reservoir dynamic modeling (ECLIPSE/IX) and history matching.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Team player, persuasive, open minded, hard worker, delivery oriented.
- Working experience in the Middle East would be a plus.
