The Role:
The Certification Engineer will ensure that UK measurement products business routinely meets all applicable product and project certification requirements as well as ensure that design definitions of products meet the requirements defined by the Quality/Certification policy such as CE, CSA, UL, NSF

New Products - Drive the implementation of product approvals according to the introduction process.
Existing Products: Maintain the approvals for the agreed product lifetime.
Support certification assessments and design reviews to influence design and assess product and project specific technical file impact.
Be the lead consultant to design & development functions on all product certification issues for all designs
Cultivate relationships and lead certification related interactions with customers and notified bodies
Assess impact of new Directives and standards on measurements product and incorporate changes into design definitions and processes.
Guide Engineers and suppliers to meet company certification requirements.
Promote company interest and certification methodology internally and externally.
Support maintenance of all product and project certification Files and Certification databases.
Support activities ensuring all Declarations of Incorporation / Conformity are accurate and representative of the target product.
Support certification queries from all internal and external customers.
Visit approval authorities as necessary to establish good contacts leading to better cooperation.

The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree Qualified (in Science, Manufacturing or Engineering subject) or HNC/HND
Experience of leading certification programme in a medium size organisation.
Experience of working with certification authorities, especially for portable water/waste water.
Experience of working with cross functional teams - design team, engineering, production, supply chain & Quality.
Energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
Good people skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of SAP
Experience of working with Gate process for new product
Project Management Certification will be an advantage.
