The Role:
As an experienced Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of 6 people, (Project Buyers and Procurement specialists ), developing and delivering of supply chain objectives across the local business in the UK. Development and review of local strategy in line with Global BU objectives.

The key focus of the Supply Chain Manager.
Continuously improve the supplier portfolio, look at strategic opportunities to increase operational initiatives, especially to improve quality and deliver of the supply chain.

Main Accountabilities of the Supply Chain Manager:-
Develop the strategic Supply Chain priorities for the business, in particular:-
Projects Business, sourcing, systems implementation, development, headcount, development, cost, saving targets, supplier performance.
Reviewed annually in conjunction with BU targets and management of the local Budget and local management of the Quality function

Deliver Supply Chain savings to support the local business unit's EBIT growth targets
Set up appropriate systems and organisation support mechanisms for the different business types within the UK - product, systems, and service.
The Supply Chain Manager will lead key commercial negotiations that suppliers, including terms of payment.
Ensuring compliance with company Supply Chain strategy - auditing, quality, risk management, etc.
Developing the team in the UK, ensuring that key skills and competencies are in place to meet the developing needs of the business.

Working as a key member of Management team in UK actively contributing to the development of the team.
Develop process improvement projects with internal & external customers and suppliers to improve the supply chain and reduce costs and improve service.
Achieve budget targets set within the department
Establish plan for new key markets and territory growth
Develop the global end to end supply chain process to support business growth

Occasional travel within the UK and abroad

The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering/technology experience in Supply Chain
Degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject (Business/Supply Chain/Engineering)
Experience of leading a supply chain team and working with/developing Category Managers
Experience in Quality within IAOG and RELEX reporting
Experience of working in a global organisation
