The Role:
Working for a global civil & Infrastructure contractor we are recruiting for an Tunnel Engineer to provide technical support to the design, construction and the engineering input, for both permanent and temporary works on a critically important civil engineering project in the heart of London

Although you will be closely aligned to the design team , you will also have opportunity to operate in a package management capacity, utilising your tunnelling experience and incorporating tunnelling techniques such as SCL and Squareworks

The project Interfaces with the public transport network as such experience of standards related to LU or Network rail would be advantageous

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educated to degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically Engineering discipline (or related)
Previous experience in a tunnelling role, preferably similar tunnelling techniques (SCL and squareworks) and similar ground conditions (London Clay).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Membership of an appropriate Professional Body, typically Chartered Member of Institute of Civil Engineering or an appropriate international equivalent professional status. Preferably membership of the British Tunnelling Society.
Previous experience in Rail infrastructure (preferably London Underground).
Previous experience in ground movement and asset protection (buildings, rail infrastructure, utilities)
A good working knowledge of
BS 6164 Code of practice for health and safety in tunnelling in the construction industry,
Health & Safety at Work Act 1974,
Construction Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations 1996,
Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015,
Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and other relevant legislation.
Hold a CSCS Card.
Hold a Sentinel Card.
