The Role:
The Company is redeveloping and expanding a light oil production play from mainly Devonian carbonate reefs and developing these horizons in north west Alberta. The Development Reservoir Engineer role will be based in Calgary. The team is actively drilling development wells, re-completing existing wells, carrying out well interventions, and reviewing a large number of reef and off reef opportunities in the area for re-development potential. The role will include estimating and working to maximise economically recoverable hydrocarbons; supervision of development activities and analysis of data acquired and to provide sound engineering input to appraisal and development opportunities within the company's asset base.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
In order to meet the company's HSE responsibilities:
* Exhibit safe behaviours at all times when on company property and/or on company business
* Comply with all HSEQ policies and regulations
* Apply the HSEQ Management System as appropriate to the relevant area of the business

* Dynamic reservoir simulation of carbonate and clastic oil and gas reservoirs in support of various active development projects in Canada.
* Working in an integrated team of geoscientist, production and petroleum engineers and drilling engineers to identify, evaluate and justify additional development well locations.
* Generation of production forecasts, regular reviews of well performance
* Reserves preparation to work with the Reserves Auditor.
* Well test analysis of surface and downhole pressure data.
* Support project and facility teams in development planning activities
* Classical reservoir engineering analysis including review of special core analysis and PVT studies
* Support during drilling, wireline logging and completion operations
* Prediction of future and evaluation of historic waterflood or other enhanced oil recovery performance results.
* Where necessary, the reservoir engineer will prepare and present reports and presentations which describe works and analysis performed.
* Provide support and technical analysis to the CTO or the Executive when required.
* In some cases, international or domestic travel may be required to subsidiary company offices, field sites or to meet with partners or others.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Technical Skills/Qualifications/Experience Required for Job
An engineering Bachelors degree is required.
A MSc in Petroleum Engineering would be advantageous.
The applicant should have between 5 and 10 years of experience as a Reservoir Engineer and exposure to reservoir simulation.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Competencies Required for Job
Experience in Petrel would be very beneficial.
Experience in either Eclipse or tNavigator reservoir simulation software.
Excellent Excel skills
A good understanding of Reservoir Engineering fundamentals.
Good communication skills and be able to present technical issues to peers and managers.
Candidate must be self-motivated and capable of identifying and recommending development opportunities on their own initiative
