Senior/Principal Flood & Stormwater Engineer

The Role:

Due to rapid growth within their business and a bolstered pipeline of projects one of our leading Engineering clients is currently seeking to appoint a Senior or Principal-level Civil/Environmental Engineer. This role will see the successful candidate play a pivotal role within the team in delivering the next generation of iconic projects across Queensland. This role will ideally suit a Flood and Stormwater specialist with a consultancy background with over 15 years' experience.

The Water Engineering team services primarily the private urban development sector, Local Councils & State Government, producing the following technical outputs:
- Flood and Stormwater Studies & Investigations
- Flood Hydraulic Impact Assessments
- Stormwater Management Plans
- Flood Emergency Evacuation Plans
- Drainage & Flood Mitigation Strategies & Design
- Water Quality Management Plans
- Site-based Management Plans
- Monitoring and Analysis (Surface & Groundwater)

Key Skills & Experience Required:

- An Engineering certification (CPEng/RPEQ) pertaining to hydrology and hydraulics is mandatory
- At least 15 years experience within water engineering
- A proven track record & passion for leadership and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team
- Hydrologic Modelling using programs like XP and WBNM
- Hydraulic modelling using programs like XP, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, MIKE, and 12D DRAINAGE/PC-DRAINS
- Water Quality Modelling using MUSIC
- Conversant with QUDM, ARR and City of Gold Coast Land Development Guidelines, in particular relating to flooding and stormwater
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge/experience GIS applications (Q GIS, MapInfo/VM) would be advantageous
- Basic 12D and AutoCAD competency would be beneficial
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Technical Report Writing ability
- Experience writing proposals and winning work
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and engage/assist in business development activities
- Vision to gain or have experience with Project Management
