The Role:
The Tech-shop Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all the equipment used by the Company is properly maintained, tested, calibrated and made ready for immediate operational use. The Engineer reports directly to and takes instructions from Tech-shop Supervisor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


Operations
1) Assisting workshop supervisor with testing and preparation of incoming and outgoing equipment. Repairing of equipment when it fails offshore.
2) Assisting tech-shop supervisor with project mobilization preparations. Execute in-field project mobilizations and demobilizations.
3) Performing preventative maintenance as required.
4) Preparing and coordinating purchase orders for workshop needs.
5) Maintaining filing system for failure reports, inwards forms, dispatch forms and purchase orders. Actively participating in adherence to and improvements of the company management system in quality and HSE related issues.
6) Training newly employed engineers with proper use and maintenance of equipment.
7) Performing site visits on vessels.
8) Ensuring that all equipment is properly green tagged are ready for use.
9) Providing technical support for field workers when on projects.
10) Develop procedures for newly acquired equipment.
11) Liaise with the client logistics personnel to have client's equipment delivered on site for projects.
12) Accomplish tasks assigned by the supervisor or managers.

Education I Experience Requirements
a) BSc level in engineering I electronics or related subject or Electronic Diploma with extensive experience.
b) Min. 1 years working in a Tech-shop related position.
c) Conversant with equipment I software in use.
d) Familiarity with PC computers and waking with electronic equipment.
e) Use of test equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyser and RS-232 tester
f) English language

Other:

a) Complexity of Duties: high level, good judgement and initiative required
b) Consequences of Error: can be high to detriment of HSE and financial success of operation c) Supervision Exercised: moderate, may direct other contractors on day to day activities
d) Confidentiality: will be exposed to confidential information which could impact company if misused
e) Working conditions: primarily workshop I office (approximately 65%), field I project activity on domestic and international projects (35%)
f) Salary - $8,500 TTD per month
g) Must have a valid TT drivers permit with Manual
h) Experience working with geophysical surveying equipment
I) Experience working with computers and GPSs.
