The Role:
A vacancy is now available for a strong Employment Relations Specialist to develop and execute ER and IR strategies that align with current and future ER/IR trends. The position will report into the ER Lead to develop and implement strategies based on a short and long term basis.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with successful negotiation skills with an adverse understanding of legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist in delivering Employee Relations activities including EBA negotiations and change management
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with Senior business leaders
  • Provide expertise and advice on workplace legislation, risk and compliance
  • Provide Risk and Assurance governance support for the HR Function
  • Prepare and negotiate Enterprise Agreements
  • Participate in workplace investigations and performance management
  • Assist in culture and change practices

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualified IR/ER, HR, Labour Relations, Law
  • Experience in Industrial Relations and Employee Relations in a complex and unionised environment ideally with some exposure to a 'blue collar' workforce.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements including experience in leading EBA negotiations
  • Proficient in developing HR policy and practices with a sound understanding of politics and labour relations
  • Awareness of Occupational Health and Safety and Workers Compensation requirements
  • Proficient negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpretation skills with the ability to explain complex legal regulations, policies, or procedures to a diverse group of stakeholders
