The Role

Based centrally in Brisbane CBD, you will report to the Project Director, providing leadership, expertise & direction to effectively deliver ongoing major projects, ensuring the safe & efficient execution of all engineering work

The Role:

  • Take responsibility for the internal Engineering function, ensuring steady progress towards the achievement of operational targets & budgets
  • Influence scope & change management for projects, supporting & influencing operational-readiness development & field engineering investigations
  • Manage engineering schedules to meet construction schedule & coordinate activities of the unit to integrate activities with other units
  • Prepare & review technical recommendations, cost estimates, budgets, bids, & scopes for contracts
  • Promote operational discipline & high performance in work execution
  • Mentor and manage team members, growing their technical knowledge
  • Provide input into long-term planning
  • Establish plans, budgets & performance targets for the Engineering functions in line with Operational requirements & standards
  • Establish, own & audit the processes required for managing review, approvals & modifications of engineering requests from the Operation in accordance with relevant safety standards, processes and legislation
  • Undertake regular travel to site on an ad-hoc basis

About you:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering - Electrical or Mechanical preferred
  • Extensive mining industry experience in Operations, Engineering, Asset Management Contract Management & Design
  • High degree of competency in managing & leading multi-disciplininary teams
  • Demonstrated competency in Project Management & delivery of major mining & infrastructure projects
  • Deep understanding of industry safety standards
  • Natural leadership qualities with exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical ability and critical thinking
  • Strong commercial bias
