The Role:
This role is a fixed term role within the Marketing office in Singapore for 12 months. The office location is in CBD. Our Client is a mining and metals company with their HQ in Australia

The Specialist Operations primary control focus is ensuring the completeness and accuracy of transactions from front end management systems to downstream systems. As the link between the front office, other operations and finance functions you will also be involved in regulatory, counterparties, and process improvement initiatives as required.

You will play an important role in managing the operational risk of the business and improving the customer experience. You will be expected to know and understand the provisions of the relevant contracts, to be able to challenge and influence for the COmpany to get the best value for money whilst protecting its interests within the constraints of the contract.

You will provide effective operational support for the allocated Commodities in managing freight shipments from voyage commencement to final payment, ensuring that Freight Operations activities are executed in compliance with relevant standards and performance targets for HSE, Cost and Volume and, where applicable, commercial logistics contracts

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in shipping, transport, ship agency, broking, commodity trading, maritime economics and minimum 5 years commercial experience in voyage and time charter operations
* Strong numerical skills and excellent communication skills
* Knowledge of international commercial shipping practice and maritime law
* Experience with IMOS and SEDNA applications
