The Role:
An opportunity has become available for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a market leading mining company on a 12 month contract, covering for maternity leave. The position will be FIFO from Darwin or Cairns on a 4 days on 3 days off roster.

Reporting to the Manager Human Resources, the successful candidate will provide support in making sound people decisions across the employee life-cycle including building strong teams, influencing employee relations and driving the company culture.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work safely within the company HR policies and protocol, including establishing and maintaining an interdependent safety culture within the team
* Provide professional, business-focused human resource service to a designated client group
* Coach leaders to effectively and consistently manage and take full accountability for people decisions
* Work in partnership with lead teams to identify the people implications of strategic and business plans and other developments
* Facilitate, evaluate, and provide guidance on all facets and programs of the employee life cycle including performance reviews, workforce planning, talent and succession planning
* Analyse trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies in partnership with client group
* Provide high quality industrial and employee relations advice and services, managing and resolving issues as they arise
* Conduct effective, fit-for-purpose and objective investigations
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

* Previous site experience and private sector/resources experiences will be highly regarded
* Significant experience in human relations with a sound knowledge of industrial and employee relations legislation, principles and practices within a heavy industry context
* Excellent negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills along with the ability to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking
* Skilled and credible in advising others on empowering people management
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
* Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a strong partner service ethic
* Proven ability to provide strategic advice, develop options, analyse risks, make good judgements, and solve problems
