The Role:
In providing leadership and direction, the HR Lead will effectively implement and execute people processes to ultimately build strong teams in line with company culture. The primary responsibility will be overseeing and developing a high performing HR BP team to ensure the consistent understanding and delivery of people processes.

The position would best suit a strong leader with key understanding of employee engagement with site based experience.

This rotational position will be based on Groote-Eylandt on a 4/3 roster FIFO from Cairns or Darwin.

Reporting to the VP of HR, responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provide strategic direction and advice to support operational leadership
  • In support of people-related critical decisions provide counsel on data, policies and frameworks
  • Identify, build and assist department leaders in developing employee talent and capability
  • Ensure local governance inclusive of working with senior leaders and HR BPS to resolve escalated queries and governing quality of HR advice
  • Work in collaboration with Organisation Culture and Capability to represent business interests in process and policy design
  • Drive improvement opportunities to simplify and standardise employee lifecycle activities

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • HR degree qualified with relevant HR leadership experience within the Mining industry
  • Site based HR experience would be preferred
  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead a high performing team
  • Strong team player with effective and influential interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in HR change management and employee engagement
  • Experience with HR SAP
  • Based in either Darwin or Cairns or willing to relocate
