The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our market leading mining operator. This is a permanent opportunity based on a 9 day fortnight.
The role will provide governance and technical stewardship capability in accordance with relevant processes, standards and performance targets for the Thermal Power Generation Plant.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for the following:
* Providing Engineering support for Power Generation Plant to maximise the efficiency and output in a safe and cost-effective manner.
* Provide technical support to the maintenance and operation team.
* Review unscheduled maintenance records and follow up any actions or recommendations.
* Manage all work, program and costs associated with each shutdown.
* Review and manage correct water management and chemical dosing for the boiler.
* Manage statutory inspections across plant services supply and reticulation compressed air, water supply, Natural Gas and industrial gases, e.g. LPG, Oxygen, Nitrogen.
* Reliability engineering support.
* Facilitate business improvement opportunities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Circa 3 years' + experience in ops and maintenance of thermal power plant.
* Degree in appropriate Engineering discipline
* Strong commitment to a company's HSE culture
* Experience in optimising power plant control systems.
* Knowledge of Maintenance Management System ideally SAP.
* Knowledge of reliability engineering including condition monitoring and failure analysis.
* Mechanical engineering experience in heavy industry, smelting or refinery environment.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Babcock Boiler and Siemens Turbine experience.
* Current Boiler and Turbine Operator Certificate.
