The Role:
The role provides specialist advice, executes analysis and benchmarking of the Production and Maintenance function's end-to-end performance.

It will also look to identify and implement improvement initiatives, enabling functional excellence and support business priorities to continuously improve the availability and performance of the assets and operational

The role reports into the Senior Reliability Engineer and will be based at site on various FIFO rosters. 4/3, 8/6 or 7/7 roster from Cairns or Darwin

* Taking personal accountability for safety and aligns with the Care Strategy
* Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with the internal and external stakeholders by meeting frequently to identify areas for improvement and recognise areas of excellence
* Actively pursuing opportunities to reduce operating costs and increase productivity through the application of policies and procedures, business systems, human and financial resources.
* Preparing inputs to form the maintenance and production budgets
* Producing the operating standards, procedures and work instructions.
* Leading, developing and supporting the Maintenance Reliability team in areas of safety, cost reduction and production improvement
* Developing and maintaining the portfolio of maintenance and operational improvement initiatives
* Working with the Production Execution sub-function to execute the portfolio of functional improvement initiatives.
* Leading investigations and analysis into equipment downtime and production loss events using techniques to identify root cause and contributing factors
* Ensuring the defect elimination process is consistently applied across all equipment assets
* Developing strategies for equipment condition monitoring and analyse data to prevent unplanned failures
* Developing and evaluating the critical and insurance spares strategies ensure minimal business risk exposure

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* A Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering is essential
* Strong experience in a similar role within the mining industry
* Exposure to Business Improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean etc.)
* Solid understanding of developing preventative maintenance strategies
* Excellent analytical and investigative skills focusing on fixed plant equipment
* Proficiency in software such as MinVu, SAP, Downtime Data Analysis, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCad and Apollo RCA will be highly regarded

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Strong production open cut and mobile plant focus
