The Position

Through and internal promotion, the position of Project Manager - Mechanical is now available. Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering and Projects this role provides core mechanical project delivery expertise for mechanical equipment, systems and processes and infrastructure projects.

You will look to provide expert working knowledge of mechanical calculation and materials handling design packages and can undertake and check calculation work from first principals

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Works safely within the companies care strategy including establishing and maintaining an interdependent safety culture within the team including the delivery of improvements in safety performance
  • Develop and maintain governance systems and processes to applicable project delivery processes across the operation.
  • Ensuring deployment of Change Control and Document and Drawings Management processes and systems.
  • Co-ordinating and delivering technical support to all Operational areas at the company.
  • Ensure engineering design and installation satisfies standards (Company and Australian).
  • Safely and effectively manage and direct contract staff.
  • Plan, organise and support project meetings and workshops.
  • Manage project documentation to support Operational sustainability.
  • Write clear and concise technical reports to a suitable technical standard.
  • Produce complex and detailed engineering designs and drawings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Mechanical Engineering (related)
  • Project Management Qualification
  • Proven experience in a Principal Mechanical role in an operating asset
  • Eligible for RPEQ or CP Eng
  • Expert knowledge of AS/NZS standards
  • Demonstrated understanding of Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2000)
  • Experience working with MS Office, MS Projects and 1SAP
  • Class C Driver's Licence
