The Role:
Our client is urgently seeking to fill a position for a Purchasing Specialist on contractual basis. The right candidate will be responsible for providing procurement advice and executing procurement activities in line with specified guidelines and business requirements in a cost effective, timely and collaborative way.

Responsibilities:

* Execute all purchasing activities, these activities include but are not limited to:
-Processing Purchasing Requisitions (PR), creating and processing RFQs, managing open POs, processing work-flows
* Manage vendor performance
* Respond to internal and external queries, provide specialist advice
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities to optimise procurement process, systems and procedures
* Identify and resolve audit findings and non-compliance's, escalate for resolution and follow up-action.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Minimum of Diploma or equivalent certificate in business or a supply related discipline or relative industry experience.
* Circa 2 - 3 years experience working as a Purchasing Officer / Specialist
* Experience in the resources, manufacturing or engineering industry highly desirable.
* Full understanding of the entire Purchase to Pay (P2P) process.
* High proficiency in SAP specifically Purchasing, Microsoft products and procurement best practices
* Excellent communications skills and good attitude to work is a must.
