The Company:

About the role:
Reporting to Project Director, you will develop the mine design and plan to meet statutory obligations and optimise mine configuration and production schedule.

This is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract, with the option of going into a permanent role as the project progresses.

Your responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning to ensure annual and rolling mining schedules adhere to Life of Mine objectives
  • Ensure engineering expertise and knowledge of the project is shared and incorporated
  • Influence scope and change management for the project
  • Participate in engineering schedules to meet construction schedule
  • Demonstrate compliance to the Mine Operating System principles when preparing project outputs
  • Responsible for delivering production forecasts
  • Provide input into short and long-term planning
  • Manage technical services across geotechnical, survey, mine planning, geology and blasting
  • Ensure integration at battery limits and interfaces, as well as between disciplines
  • Ensure production data integrity for the project is achieved
  • Develop cost estimates
  • Manage the review, approve, and modification of project designs

This position will be based centrally in Brisbane CBD, with regular travel to Moranbah as required.

About you

  • Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or Surveying
  • Proven ability to guide, develop and influence practice in feasibility studies and production planning
  • Strategic planning to ensure rolling mining schedules adhere to Life of Mine objectives
  • Proven successful delivery of mine projects within time, scope, and schedule as well as successful operational outcomes
  • Strategic thinking: plan in detail; but react flexibly to changing circumstances
  • Broad experience and knowledge in underground mine operations, planning and economic evaluation including feasibility studies to execution of projects
  • Substantial knowledge of other functions including mine design, mine planning, ventilation and survey services, cost reporting and budgeting
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams
  • Relating technical solutions to financial decisions
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, able to relate, influence and persuade at all levels of the organisation
