The Role:
We have been selected by one of the largest global chemical manufacturing companies to search for a subject matter expert in Mechanical Integrity of pressurized process equipment used in petrochemical facilities worldwide.

Primary client groups include manufacturing, capital projects, business teams and R&D.


* Function as a global Subject Matter Expert in the area of Mechanical Integrity of pressurized process equipment used in petrochemical and refining facilities.
* Authoring and implementing standards, specifications and preferred practices for effective inspection and mechanical integrity of stationary equipment.
* Provide technical leadership and judgment to assess complex technical issues and then develop and communicate executable solutions.
* Conceive, plan, prioritize and implement multiple concurrent projects or activities in order to effectively meet business needs.
* Lead and optimize company-wide technology related improvement programs or initiatives.
* Providing training and mentoring to support inspection and mechanical integrity.
* Provide guidance and advice on effective preparation for plant maintenance turnarounds.
* Lead cross functional teams in the execution of multi-disciplinary technical assignments.
* Anticipating internal and or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommending process, product or service improvements.


A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Work Experience:
A minimum of 8 years of experience working as a mechanical engineer in the refining, petro-chemical, or chemical process industries. This should include experience in the role of inspection supervisor, mechanical integrity engineer or similar.

Functional Competencies

* Knowledgeable in pertinent European codes, standards, recommended practices and industry best practices related to materials of construction, design, inspection, testing and maintenance of stationary equipment.
* Strong knowledge in inspection work processes and inspection data management. Risk-based inspection experience would be a plus.
* Experienced in implementing programs and initiatives at a site, regional or corporate level.
* Demonstrated experience in authoring technical specifications, procedures and other technical documents.
* Strong troubleshooting ability.
* Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to function independent of supervision.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, networking and teamwork skills for data gathering, building consensus in teams for problem solving, developing a client base and working well with people in a multi-disciplinary team
* Estimated travel up to 20% including potentially trips to the US and Asia.


Proficient in the English language (verbal & written communication). Other European languages are an asset.
