The Role:
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
The Site Inspector, regardless of discipline, functions as a member of the Project Inspection Quality Assurance Team. Each discipline inspector will monitor, assess and verify quality inspection activities performed by the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor(s) on the Project. The Site Inspector (SI) will be expected to assist the Contractor to successfully implement its approved Quality Plan, ITPs and control procedures to ensure the equipment and materials supplied to and installed at the job site meet all specification and statutory requirements.

* Responsible to follow Project Quality Plan in assigned scope of work
* Monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with approved processes and procedures
* Plan and coordinate inspection activities for discipline inspectors at site and reports to the Site Manager of Quality Surveillance issues, status and metrics
* Implement the Construction Surveillance over Contractor site activities



TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to all Level 1 tasks and responsibilities, Level 2: Perform discipline quality inspection activities in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan - Keep Quality supervision updated with status of quality issues - Monitor production processes and perform surveillance activities - Review and evaluate Contractor"s and Suppliers" quality documents for accuracy and adequacy - Support Mechanical Completion process.
Promote Quality awareness throughout the Site
* Ensure proper implementation of Contractor quality control processes within the site
* Coordinates Discipline Inspector activities on site
* Provide oversight of Contractor's implementation of their E/I/T construction processes and procedures:
- Review and comment on Contractor's E/I/T Site Quality Plan and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Ensure Contractor follows Contractor's Quality Program specific to discipline
- Evaluate and monitor implementation of Contractor's site quality management systems per specific discipline
- Ensure Contractor is performing discipline specific quality reporting per the contract
* Conducts site audits, as needed
* Monitor, investigate, identify and raise site quality issues to the Project Team
* Provide Oversight and Direction to Contractor Discipline Inspectors including any documentation (ITP, Checksheets, etc) or inspection activities
* Advises and informs Quality Lead on Quality issues, status and metrics
* Review and assist in completion of Quality portion of site close-out reports as necessary
* Ensure previous lessons learned are reviewed and that new lessons learned are identified


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS -

* Minimum of 15 years of experience in Construction, Commissioning or Start-up activities of various facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry
* Minimum 10 years of experience associated with Quality Management and Inspection
* Technical training or high school diploma, Technical discipline certifications
* Experience with Contractors and Suppliers involved in production facilities projects
* Experience working in client role on major production facilities projects is preferred
* Extensive knowledge, skill and experience in construction activities
* Qualification / certification in auditing and in inspection disciplines is preferred
* Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, etc)
* Read, write and speak fluent English with strong leadership and communication skills
* Willing and able to business travel (domestic/overseas) to project sites to provide various levels of support - Candidate must be able to integrate well into team, accept decisions, quickly learn job specification and function effectively;
* Witness/ Validate Contractor testing (VLF, HiPot, Megger, P-P) cables
* Validate Contractor cable torqueing Signing Contractor E/I/T check sheets and testing forms
* Working at elevations- towers, man-lift, scaffolding
* PPE: Nomex or FRC's and steel toed boots
* Candidate must have experience with large scale projects
