The Role:
Job Purpose:
The Engineering Lead, Interior will be responsible for supporting the design, release and launch of the interior product lines. They will lead the business development, proposal and project delivery activities, specifically within interior, including technical specifications, design standards and product testing.

Factors Influencing the Job
External factors: Liaise with key external suppliers and engineering service partners to ensure that the interior components meet the project needs and industry best practice, ensuring supplier activities and products meet the specified requirements.
Internal factors: Influence, challenge and advise the Engineering, Design, Project Managers and partners on the importance and need for quality assurance for the interior ensuring deliverables and key milestones are met.

Accountabilities:
1. Primary task and objective is to lead development of the rolling chassis from pre-concept to life cycle management.
2. Plan the process, detail planning costs and implementation timing for released CAD drawings to ensure detailed understanding of how a part will be manufactured, jigs and tooling defined, costs detailed, implementation plan available.
3. Support and work with the Design, Engineering Service Partners, Project and Programme management and external suppliers to ensure that all related chassis components are on time, target and delivered.
4. Manage and deliver production preparation and quality achievement.
5. Monitor and ensure documentation for all chassis related components are maintained and updated as necessary in accordance with regulations and directives.
6. Ensure together with the safety and homologation manager that all chassis related safety and legal requirements are full filled with exception of exhaust gas emission related points.
7. Attend formal design and technical reviews as appropriate to provide guidance related to a particular project.
8. Carry out chassis quality management and process assessments as determined and necessary, as well as supporting of quality measurements.
9. Work as an active member of the Engineering team, Module Teams and Simultaneous Engineering Teams to ensure effective communication between colleagues and positive contribute to meetings and briefings.
10. Report to Complete Vehicle Lead any non-conforming regulatory issues and provide solutions.
11. Attendance at FMEA and implementation of measurements, which are resulting from them.
12. Assistance in the quality inspection of components as well as in diagnoses and modifications of prototypes.
13. Preparation, implementation and evaluation of module, components and vehicle tests.

Required Profile
Level of education and experience in general: The incumbent will have a technical undergraduate degree in automotive engineering, other engineering or science; will have a minimum of 5-10 years' experience gained at either a Tier 1 automotive supplier or automotive OEM, design and engineering process, from concept to industrialisation. Some project management experience. Ability to communicate at all levels. High level technical communications with suppliers, partners etc.

Technical skills: Intimate automotive knowledge. Proved experiences in driving dynamics, component durability, design and project management skills. Previous experience and knowledge gained during career with a number of product development, launches, excellent people management skills, with a track record of delivery.

Behavioural skills: The incumbent must be able to build effective working relationships with internal clients and external supply chain; must have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; must possess good verbal and written communications skills and be capable of establishing solid, professional relationships and credibility to engage with senior stakeholders. Should be able to identify open tasks and self-motivated to find solutions. The position requires handling multiple
priorities and balancing a demanding environment with an even disposition.
