The Company:
Our Client is one of the world's biggest manufacturing companies and the UK's largest privately-owned company, and in a new departure, they are now seeking to add world-class Automotive expertise to support the manufacture of a new, uncompromising 4x4 coming to market by the end of 2020. The creation of this new 4x4 will honour the spirit of traditional rugged off-roading, whilst offering a step change in build quality and reliability and meeting the safety and environmental considerations of the present day - a significant challenge, and an exciting market opportunity.

The Role:
Please note this role will be home-based with 50% of time spent travelling (primarily Europe). We are looking for a creative, ambitious and dynamic Supplier Quality Engineer to support this project through two phases:

Phase 1, the 'Project Phase'
*Vehicle will be designed and a full project plan will be created with decisions made on how and where to build the vehicle and set the plans in motion.
*Your role will be to evaluate suppliers to ensure that from a quality perspective we source the most adequate suppliers. In addition the employee will manage the supplier maturity gate process to safeguard the ramp up of serial production.

Phase 2- 'Production Phase'
*Sustainable manufacture of the product will come on stream.
*Your role will be to conduct supplier quality monitoring as well as supplier development to maintain high quality product supply and continuously improve product and process quality of our suppliers.

* Minimum 3 years' experience gained at either a Tier 1 automotive supplier or automotive OEM
* Able to demonstrate direct knowledge of automotive supplier quality management from concept-through-industrialisation-to-operation
* Experience in leading cross functional change management projects
* Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivery
* Demonstrable ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* There will be significant travel involved in the role
