The Role:
The Engineer shall ensure the test facilities and projects are supported and developed in line with evolving standards and methods, and provide technical support to both internal and external customers to provide systems which meet the demands of the evolving renewable sector.

To work within a multi-functional team supporting the delivery of device and component testing, as well as the development and delivery of collaborative industry projects, in compliance with existing and emerging technical standards. The role holder will design, systems, sub-systems and components, including the production of required design documentation, as well as maintaining and developing those already in existence, to provide solutions which meet internal or external customer requirements.

The Engineering role will be focussed on delivering projects utilising the latest technological equipment and methods, by working collaboratively with experienced specialists in a variety of disciplines. The role may involve development of existing facilities and test methods, as well as delivery of projects which may be commercial or research based, from external or internal clients.
The role holder will also keep abreast of relevant technical developments in the industry, and as appropriate recommend new equipment and techniques where this may bring about improved testing methodologies.

The Engineer shall;

* Design, Mechanical systems, sub-systems and components in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and the testing asset based staff
* Produce high quality design documentation in line with established standards and ensure they are maintained
* Work with testing facility staff and other engineering specialists to develop the test assets and testing regimes on offer
* Work with other departments to produce high quality technical reports as appropriate to the role, and follow quality procedures for their release
* Keep abreast of technical developments and industry expertise to identify potential improvements to testing techniques
* Assist internal clients such as business development and research functions to provide tender support and promote the facilities
* Support management and engineering staff where required with technical knowledge
* Support and mentor junior technical staff as appropriate
* Maintain project records in accordance with company procedures
* Maintain and update existing Design system quality procedures, to ensure they remain current
* Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness in accordance with company procedures and current legislation, and encourage safe behaviours in the provision of the role
