The Role:
Salary £35,000 -£43,000

The primary objective of the Project Manager is to ensure that the projects and programmes initiated by the client are managed to deliver within the constraints of the agreed timescales, budget and finance structure.

The Project Manager is a critical role within the Operational Performance Team, ensuring the successful delivery of the Directorate's project portfolio.
The Project Manager is responsible for defining and delivering the execution phase of projects and programmes focusing predominately in Operational Performance in Offshore Wind.
The Project Manager will follow defined project management guidance, standards and acceptance criteria, to deliver projects within the constraints of the agreed timescales, budget and finance structures.
The Project Manager will drive and coordinate the activities of the multi- discipline project teams. The teams are a mix of internal and external partners and specialists.
Delivery will be managed under client processes and procedures to which the Project Manager shall ensure compliance throughout the delivery of projects and proqrammes.

The Project Manager shall;
* Ensure the project management of individual projects and programmes is appropriate and consistent with strategy and delivered according to the Company's policies and procedures.
* Scope, plan and execute project plans utilising best practice project management methodologies, tools and resources.
* Implement the appropriate organisation structure for managing the individual projects and programmes through consideration of level of investment, geographical location and environment, complexity and risk.
* Manage project team resources; providing opportunities and direction that will inspire and motivate people to achieve superior results.
* Coordinate project activities and risk management.
* Provide input, support and expertise to project teams to ensure that input is given to early stage development activities.
* Communicate effectively, providing regular and ad-hoc reports to senior management within Management Team and beyond (in the format & quality required) and foster open communication across teams.
* Control budget for projects and programmes ensuring that cost forecasts remain within the overall project budgets.
* Commit to ensuring and maintaining a high standard of health & safety awareness
through encouraging safe behaviours within and out with direct reports, contractors and other stakeholders.
* Ensure all projects and programmes are closed out effectively, including all relevant and necessary documentation filed and stored appropriately.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* A recognised project management certificate or diploma.
* 3-5 years proven project management experience within a technical sector such as energy, utilities, construction.
* Sound relationship management skills and confidence working with Project Directors, Senior Management (internal and external) and consultants.
* Sound planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and see / anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implement mitigating solutions to negate the effect of such problems.
* A track record of successfully leading multi-discipline teams in the delivery of projects and programmes.
* Experience of negotiating and managing commercial contracts.
* Awareness of occupational Health & Safety issues
