The Company

My client is a leading global, multi-discipline engineering consultancy well-known in the transport, infrastructure & environmental sectors. They are currently seeking a future leader with an interest in succession and long term growth within the organisation - an individual who is looking to develop their career within a global organisation.

The Role

Due to the continued growth of the company around Australia and across several disciplines, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Engineer or Environmental Scientist to take their career to the next level and join my client's Brisbane Team and work on projects throughout Queensland and Australia.

In this position you will join the Environment and Planning team, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that strive for technical excellence for our clients across a wide range of diverse projects, utilising best practice approaches to ensure you maximise business development opportunities, project delivery and company growth. With exposure to a wide range of projects for local government, private industry, state and federal government, you will be working alongside experienced project managers, technical specialists and industry.

This role will require a strong client focus and excellent communication skills. Your ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative team environment will be key to your success in this role.


Key Responsibilities

This is a fantastic career opportunity for you to:

  • Deliver projects from proposal to completion
  • Manage projects from planning through to delivery including assessment, field works, cost, time and resource management
  • Compile tender and proposal submissions including writing methodologies and providing costings
  • Develop lasting client relationship based on trust and delivery
  • Manage ongoing environmental monitoring programs
  • Mentor and train other team members
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring programs
  • Execute technical report writing and assessment

Role Requirements

As the successful applicant, you will possess the following technical capabilities and/or experience:

  • A degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years' professional experience (preferably within an environmental consulting role)
  • Experience in Australia, with appropriate knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory obligations
  • Sound understanding of scientific principles and relevant technologies.
  • Possess industry experience in one (or a combination) of the following areas; contaminated land, environmental impact assessment and management, soil science, mineral and non-mineral waste management.
  • Experience within the mining industry is desirable.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and possess the ability to discuss detailed environmental and
    planning outcomes concepts with clients and colleagues to develop sustainable environmental and engineering
    designed solutions
  • Outstanding risk assessment, report writing and bid-writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and confidence in managing complex projects.
  • Have a commitment to safety and safe work practices, and be willing to promote the company's safety culture
