The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Contracts & Procurement professional to join this leading mining company at Superintendent level. As the Superintendent you will support the Category Lead in in providing functional expertise, mentoring, coaching and guidance to the Category team whilst fostering a positive team culture as well as developing strong stakeholder relationships. There will be an emphasis on driving world class contract management performance focused mainly on strategic and complex contracts.

Key responsibilities includes:
* Provide in-depth understanding of various project delivery models such as EPC; EPCM and Owners Team, to provide strong risk analysis and correct price modelling expertise
* Utilising project portfolio data to contribute to the development of a Category Strategy
* Ensures that market engagement is planned and executed to meet the project schedule, quality and cost objectives
* Co-ordinates the drafting of high quality tender and contract documents
* Provides contract management support to project teams throughout the contract life-cycle
* Performance monitoring and reporting
* Maintains relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert-
* Lead supplier relationship management
* Projects, operational and commercial excellence through continuous improvement
* Establishes processes required to identify, quantify, prevent and resolve construction claims
* Understands and implements principles and methods of dispute avoidance and resolution.
* Varies contracts as required
* Ensures compliance to local and federal government legislation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Demonstrated extensive experience with contract law or contract management
* Track record of working on mining projects throughout the full lifecycle from Pre to Post award
* Proven ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments
* Strong leadership and influencing skills
* Autonomous, detail oriented, organised, and objective.
* Stakeholder management
* Ability to establish and manage KPI's
* In-depth understanding of local and federal legislation to ensure compliance
* Collaborative approach
