The Role:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide continual leadership, support and guidance to the Production and Operations Department in order to facilitate the systematic development of staff and effective management systems
2. Develop and implement robust operating and maintenance systems, policies and procedures for the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of the Department
3. Identify key success factors and institute and monitor key performance metrics to facilitate the achievement of departmental and company objectives in collaboration with the departmental staff
4. Lead a circle of Operational and Engineering excellence for the company's line(s) of business
5. Ensure the application and maintenance of appropriate engineering standards in all company operations
6. Ensure the implementation of proper preventive maintenance and planning systems, to facilitate safe, reliable operations and minimize unplanned downtime to achieve optimum plant availability
7. Ensure that the Company's QHSE system is maintained in all production activities and food safety management system is maintained in the relevant production related activities, to achieve compliance
8. Assist with the preparation of the Company's Strategic Plan and Annual Budget
9. Ensure that the established product quality specifications are consistently maintained, and Finished Goods are aligned to the inventory control system for the company
10. Liaise with Commercial Department and schedule production to ensure effective production planning
11. Ensure the team's production results satisfy all customers' requirements within a timely manner and in accordance with the company's Customer Service Philosophy to achieve and exceed budget and customer satisfaction
12. Demonstrate professionalism and integrity by personal example at all times and ensure that the team complies with all company policies, procedures and guidelines
13. Ensure effective management of external contracted parties according to the policies and procedures of the company to achieve objectives within budget
14. Perform any other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* BSc. Degree in Electrical, Process, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum of 5 years' management experience
* Minimum 7 years' experience in a Heavy Oil and Gas, Petro chemical or other manufacturing Industry.
* The Following skills and experience would be considered an asset:
Process Safety Management systems experience
Project Management Skills
Computer literate in project management software, Excel and Word
Knowledgeable in Compressed Gas Association guidelines
Negotiating skills and persuasive skills
Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, leadership and oral and written communication skills
