The Role:
Position: Design Release Engineer - Switches


Responsibilities:
Definition and selection of electrical switches throughout the interior cabin
Communication both physical and electrical requirements of switches to suppliers & CAD Designers
Interface with UI/UX, Interior Design (Styling) Manufacturing and System Suppliers
Ability to review CAD to communicate and verify design requirements are met
Manage engineering and project management processes to maintain schedule, budget, and functionality.
Plan and track validation of components
Familiar with Communication Protocols - LIN / CAN
Do benchmark studies of comparable vehicles to know industry norms.
Working knowledge ISO26262
Domestic and International Travel 10% or less.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, (BSME,BSEE) or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
6+ years Automotive &Switch Systems design experience (Supplier and OEM) using CATIA V5, preferably with embedded software and/or hardware design within automotive industry.
Knowledge of communication protocols - LIN/CAN
Experience with in circuit debugging, low level programming, interface to peripherals (ADC/SPI/I2C/CAN/LIN/PWM and others)
Familiarity with standards ISO14229 (UDS), ISO15765 (CAN), ISO26262 (Functional Safety)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Works well on projects on their own as well as with a team
Be able to clearly communicate ideas and information technically and to management
Works to support decisions with data
Multi-lingual a plus.
