The Role:
Our client currently has an opening for an experienced Human Resource Manager to join their management team in Jamaica. The Human Resource Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Human Capital Strategic Plan and Budget in alignment with the Corporate Strategic Plan and Budget, to meet current and future business needs and objectives. This involves planning and implementing all functional Human Resource and Employee Development Policies, Programmes and Procedures to ensure compliance with best practices in Human Resources and relevant industrial relations laws.
The Human Resource Manager is also responsible for leading negotiations with the Unions and dealing with disciplinary matters whilst maintaining a harmonious industrial relations environment in the organization. Talent Management, training and development and employee engagement are also key areas of focus for the Human Resource Manager.

Job Description:
* Apply HR expertise to knowledgeably coach, advise and provide recommendations on employee relation matters involving associates and/ or leadership to include: disciplinary actions, developing results- based action plans and performance improvement management.
* Plan, organize and manage all the activities of the Human Resources Department inclusive of facility maintenance.
* Alignment of Group policies for the effective management of the people resources of the company, and implement strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
* Maintenance of a harmonious working environment utilising good IR/ER practices and through the development, engagement and motivation of employees
* Manage the performance management system to drive high performance, with focus on training to ensure optimum performance and results
* Manage the budget and other financial aspects of the Human Resources Department
* Participate in the development of and perform all duties in accordance with the procedures set forth in ISO 9001: 9000, 14000 and 18000 standards and the Company's Quality manual and OSHA standards

Qualifications and Experience:
* First Degree in Human Resources Management, Training, Psychology or a related discipline plus at least Five (5) years' experience working in a managerial position in the Human Resources area.
* Post graduate training/certification in Human Resources would be an asset.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Knowledge of best practices in Human Resources Management and experience developing Human Policies and Procedures.
* A sound knowledge of Jamaican Labour Laws and Industrial Relations Practices and Trade Union. Experience with; Bustamonte Ucase Unions will be an advantage.
* Experience administering company's employee benefits program, which includes retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance policies such as health, life, and disability.
* Experience developing and managing Human Resources Strategic Plans and budgets Knowledge of practices/techniques in Organizational Development and employee training and development.
* Skilled in negotiating and conflict resolution Should possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate good interpersonal and team building skills
