The Role:
As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Senior Accountant will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The Senior Accountant will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, warehouse, procurement, customs and logistics.


* Provide leadership in the development for continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives
* Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programmes; strategies and regulatory actions
* Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
* Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation
* Manage costs related to the new project and product development
* Identify efficient and effective ways to manage overall production and operational costs
* Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company
* Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
* Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable Group and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
* Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Company.
* Develop credibility for the Company by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports that will assist the Board and other senior managers in managing their responsibilities.
* Prepare annual budgets, financial plans and interim forecasts
* Manage strategically the accounting and finance functions, either through direct participation or via management of staff
* Supervise, develop and motivate the human resources of the department by training, coaching, organizing, monitoring and appraising job results in accordance with the company's policies.
* Set Performance Standards, Key Performance Indicators and conduct performance assessments for direct reports.
* Develop close relationships with budget holders in order to prepare monthly budgets, monitor and analyse income and expenditure, identify variances and negotiate appropriate remedial action
* Carry out value for money studies as required
* Manage cash to ensure best utilization of assets.
* Work with independent auditors
* Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
* Perform any other related duties as required by the Managing Director.

Degree and major if applicable:
* Accounting/Finance *or an equivalent combination of academic and work experience (Masters Degree preferred)

Required hands-on, technical or other types of training to perform the job:
* Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in managing all aspects of the finance and accounting responsibilities preferably within a manufacturing industry
* Minimum two years Supervisory experience.
