The Role:
Purpose of the job

*The role will report to the Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) Engineering manager but will be expected to work closely with many functions across the Project especially finance.

The purpose of the interface engineer vacancy is to provide an interface between the Finance team and the Engineering team as follows:

*The Project will use some bank financing and therefore the lending banks will require technical assurance and auditing of the Project. This role will assist the IPMT Engineering Manager in meeting banks, collecting and presenting data and answering technical questions.
*The role will be an interface to governmental organizations that are able to provide financial support to the project and will ensure that any applications are managed appropriately and technically correct.
*Role would suit an engineer interested in developing financing or commercial competencies.

Technical skills

*Degree qualified or equivalent in appropriate engineering discipline.
*Major project experience with strong design engineering/procurement background and a broad understanding of multiple disciplines and their interfaces
*5+ years' experience in an engineering, projects or operational role.
*A finance qualification such as an MBA would be helpful but is not necessary.
*Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, Dutch and English.

Accountabilities

General:

*To support the Project One Program Engineering Manager in the performance of his/her duties, deputising as required.
*To provide technical and engineering information to the finance team to support the Project and answer routine queries.
*Work on or lead teams to improve project processes or resolve issues, especially in relation to the interface between finance and engineering.

Bank Financing Role:

*Support the Project One Program Engineering manager to ensure that all technical information required for bank financing is delivered in a clear and concise format to the required schedule.
*Own the technical data set for bank financing and ensure that it is kept up to date as the project progresses.
*Develop systems and processes working with Project Controls Function, Project Delivery Teams and Engineering to ensure that the project scope, processes, and risks are correctly communicated to the financing banks.
*Work with lending banks to ensure that their requirements and expectations for technical information are meet. This will include attending meetings, making presentations as well as routine communications and action close out.

Supporting Government Institutions Interface Role:

*Develop the project strategy for governmental institutions financial support, by identifying and understand opportunities and their relevance to the Project scope.
*Identify opportunities to align the Project aims and objectives with government incentive schemes so that the project can meet the financing bodies' intention of these schemes.

Implement the agreed Project One Government Support Strategy including:

*Where agreed, align project strategy with incentive schemes and ensure that the Project Delivery Teams are clear about the requirements and that they implement them to meet both the spirit of the scheme as well as the detailed requirements.
*Completion of applications in the correct format and at the correct time.
*Work with other business areas to co-ordinate applications as required by the rules of the schemes. Manage the application process to ensure that progress of applications are tracked and all requirements are delivered.

*Willing and flexibility to travel. The role is likely to be split 50% in Belgium and 50% in UK with occasional travel to US and other locations.
