The Role:
Senior Development Engineer - Engines - competitive salary, plus bonus, pension, additional benefits

Not just your standard passenger car automotive engines - but instead this historic engine builder and engineering solution provider have been hand building engines and power solutions to all industrial sectors with a focus on marine and rail, this British brand is now wanting to add some skills to their ranks.

After huge investment to their manufacturing, R&D and aftersales functions in 2018; the business have seen an influx of international projects, and so have created a role to ensure all departments harmonize and work cohesively to really get the very best out of the site.

What will you be doing?

* Supporting the R&D function by developing new solutions and technologies for their engines
* Prototyping engines, analysing and resolving constraints - fuel consumption, emission, weight, power, torque and everything else!
* Integrating new technology with traditional engineering methods, getting support for software integration and electrical upgrades
* Working on verification and validation, focusing on compliance and accuracy for specifications
* Analysing and complex system problems at specification and build stage
* Supporting continuous improvement - adding value engineering to quality
* Accurately support all project technical files including certifications and approvals - maintaining supportive administrative processes
* Working closely with lead development engineer on all engine development activities

What we need from you?

* Passionate about engines
* Educated in a specific discipline - mechanical or electrical
* Well versed in all engineering matters related to engines: fuel injection, exhaust after treatment calibration(SCR), emission control, legislating and FAT testing and more
* Root cause analysis knowledge (8D methodology)

What would be an added value to the role?

* Project experience
* Design for manufacturer & assembly (DFMA) knowledge
* An exposure to Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD, Inventor 3D, Creo)
* History of analyzing and reporting noise & vibration measurement
