The Role:
The role of Commercial Vehicle & Direct Sales Manager is to proactively develop and prosecute sales with major customers in the UK and internationally.

The candidate will also develop strong relationships with key dealer partners in order to maximise sales across all territories, and key leasing companies and ensure strong residual values by assisting in the management of the relationship with the industry guides. The candidate will also manage Direct Sales Team of three, managing their day-today sales' activities, monitoring performance against targets and ensuring the business plan is achieved.

The successful candidate will need to open up totally new relationships, from scratch based on research and be able to prioritise these, assess the opportunities, scale and timing.

The Commercial Vehicle & Direct Sales Manager will be both customer and target focused, with the ability to deliver results in line with profitability expectations against volume targets.

Manage a team of three Direct Sales Executives, ensuring they maintain a strict diary/appointment ratio on a day to day basis and achieve sales' goals

Prepare for the successful introduction of future vehicles through the development of the corporate market.

Identify & seek out new prospects, formulate account relationships, maintain lasting sales penetration across specific CV sectors on an account by account basis. Ending in multiple profitable sales volumes - compliant to all Brand principles.

Maximise Volume sales, protect brand principles and respond proactively to all sales opportunities in a professional manner.

Control advanced sales negotiations to positive conclusion, administrate and develop sales opportunities across key markets and key target accounts/customers.

Proactively manage to completion and submission any customer tenders received by liaising with all necessary departments to ensure a quality response in line with Brand values.

Record sales activity and prospecting data to an acceptable auditable process.

Maintain and achieve a strict diary/appointment ratio on a day to day basis.

Adopt, understand, evaluate and utilise wider automotive organisations/reports to position our products and services ahead of our competitors e.g. SMMT, Insight, CAP and equivalents across Europe

Track and identify key conditions/market opportunities aligned to our product offer whilst implementing marketing initiatives that deliver and maximise growth and product exposure to all relevant industry sectors.

Complete appropriate sales reports - as required by Line Manager/Management Teams.

Lead meetings, design and present at senior level as well as attending/co-ordinating events to position products and services. Ensuring participation from targeted customers/prospects.

Support the preparation of the strategic corporate sales development for in European cities with:◦Analysis of city legislation. Assist in the research of markets and the prioritisation of market development.

Build strong relationships with major fleets in the UK and internationally.

Build strong relationships with distribution and maintenance Partners across Europe.

Build strong relationships with the major fleet funders.

Ensure the maintenance of class leading residual values by building strong relationships with RV guides across Europe.

Ensure that sales forecasts are accurate and achievable.

Ensure that market intelligence on legislation, market actions and competitor activity is fed back to the Head of Corporate Sales to enable specification, upgrades and new derivatives to be considered to maximise sales opportunities.

Ability to be both a 'Hunter' opening up new business from cold, and a 'Farmer' in retaining and growing accounts.

Ability to motivate team members and drive results

A proven 'people person' able to quickly build positive relationships internally and externally.

Self-starter driven by challenge able to self-motivate and work on own initiative creating opportunities without close supervision.

A creative and entrepreneurial thinker who can conceive innovative 'premium price solutions' with perceived high value for clients and high margins

A skilled negotiator, able to sell value rather than price.

Able to interpret environmental legislation and rules to build a sound case for both vehicles as the best environmentally-friendly commercial vehicle solutions for fleets.

Results driven with a proven track record of selling solutions to fleets.


Large company discipline and processes with small company can-do attitude.

Ability to assist in the development and implementation of the strategy for major fleets and tactically negotiate to optimise the deal.


European language capability (German preferable)
