The Role:
Our client is looking for a Principal Homologation Engineer. Activities will support Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Government Affairs and new product introduction (NPI)

Responsibilities will include:

External type approval / certification authorities

Legislation data-bases

Type approval working groups

Licensing authorities

End of Life Vehicles (ELV) databases

External test facilities

Test instrumentation

MS Office

Type Approval status, Conformity of Production status, licence status, design integrity, marketability, durability and manufacturing processes of the company's products.

The primary duties, activities or responsibilities of the position:

The Principal Homologation Engineer will Plan, organise & control time efficiently & profitably

Maintaining European type approval

Maintaining Conformity of Production clearance.

End of Life Vehicles (ELV) compliance activities

Maintaining licensing compliance

Co-ordinate tests in accordance with published Homologation plans in the UK and elsewhere

Contribute to homologation planning for rest of world markets

Promote departmental specifications and procedures.

Liaise with outsource facility providers both in terms of cost and timing agreements

Legislative & safety test requirements including Instrumentation, data collection, analysis, and presentation



Accountability:

Ensure compliance with published Homologation timing requirements

Ensure compliance with End of Life Vehicles legislation

Ensure cost effectiveness of all Homologation activities e.g. equipment & facility hire, external contract labour etc


Relationships:

Liaise daily with all functions and at all levels up to Chief Engineer

Organise Dept resources to support homologation & NPI programmes

Liaise with external organisations to support the activities of the Homologation function

Environmental / Working Conditions include - office, workshop, test laboratory, and remote test site environments.






The Company:
Our client is an automotive engineering company specialising in design development and manufacture of fully electric commercial vehicles

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree level in engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 5-years' experience in automotive Homologation / legislation environment.

Homologation supervisory experience

Full driving license required
