The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide business and technical leadership and line management to teams of Consultants based in Kuala Lumpur
* Manage and provide technical lead for high profile Risk & Process Safety projects in the Oil & Gas sector, adding value and innovation
* Establish and develop long-term senior level relationships with Clients in order to identify new opportunities and generate further business
* Prepare proposals offering an in-depth understanding of client needs and values and proposing effective solutions to ensure the best chance of success
* Direct projects, selecting the best team, effectively negotiating objectives, deliverables and contractual arrangements and achieving project profitability in order to ensure projects are delivered to agreed specification, on time and within budget
* To provide advice to Clients covering the O&G, petrochemical, chemical, power sectors on the latest developments in Technical HSE Risk Assessment.
* Contribute to the overall development of the Technical Risk business, working with a team Partners to generate ideas in order to grow as a business
* Ideally will hold a Bachelor's degree, preferably a Masters or similar, in Chemical Engineering or other science or engineering degree relevant to technical Risk and Safety assessment for major hazard industries.
* 15+ years of progressive experience in Environmental Consulting firm.
* Strong knowledge of the EPC clients, Oil & Gas sectors (preferably including LNG), including both upstream and downstream as wells as wider markets such as petrochemical, chemical and power sectors
* Knowledge of Technical Risk and Safety Assessment techniques in relation to international standards and familiarity with latest regulatory developments relevant to major hazard industries
* Fundamental knowledge of key process safety implementation at operational facilities
* Ability to advise clients on key Technical Risk, Safety & Environmental issues relating to the oil & gas, chemical and power.
* Excellent relationship building skills, with strong influencing and collaborative working skills
* Entrepreneurial thinking with the ability to identify opportunities to extend own practice and looking for ways to grow the business and leverage opportunities
* Excellent communication skills - including oral, written and presentation skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Skills for team building, mentoring and coaching

* Demonstrable recent consultancy and engineering experience of working at a senior level on oil & gas and other relevant sectors on technical risk and safety & loss prevention assessment projects, gained through direct dealings with major EPC's and multinational clients either across APAC or the wider global Oil & Gas as well as chemical and power sector communities
* Proven and impressive track record of developing excellent client relationships and of winning new business
* Solid experience in the delivery of a range of Technical Risk and Safety Assessment projects in the Oil & Gas sector including Hazard Identification, HSE Cases, QRA, Consequence Analysis, Bow-Tie Analysis, Emergency Response Planning, Safety Critical Elements and Performance Standards, HSE Management Systems, etc.
* Experience of managing complex projects within the consultancy setting, ideally as a Project Director or similar
* Experience of leading, managing and developing a financially successful consulting business
* Travel to overseas locations, as required
The following skills and experience would be an advantage
* Process safety audit experience
* Experience of assessments at concept, FEED, Detailed Design, Operations and Decommissioning stages
