The Role:
Due to a strong pipeline of work and exciting opportunities in the market my client is looking to expand their Dams & Geotechnical team and appoint a Hobart-based Team Lead.

The Opportunity:

The Team Leader will have a people and operational focus, to ensure the formation, development, leadership and performance of a highly capable team. The Team Leader will crystalize the team purpose for team members; ensuring capability development and capacity meets the market and client demand, with a focus on delivery effectiveness and resourcing turn-around, guiding the overall performance of the team.

The Team Leader will also provide a focal point for the sales team in the cultivation of client relationships, opportunity generation and successful sales outcomes.

* Working closely with project teams and act as Project Director/Project Manager as and when required
* Actively engage the team to build a collaborative, commercial, high performance work culture
* Build and successfully manage internal and external relationships
* Pursuing and delivering quality proposals that support my client's positioning and meet client expectations
* Providing leadership in growing capability within the Tasmanian dams team by managing, motivating, coordinating and mentoring staff
* Providing leadership to Dams and Geotech teams as a hands on Project Leader to achieve commercial targets
* Managing the work-sharing effort required to successfully deliver projects
* Delivery of projects involving dam safety reviews, comprehensive risk assessments and engineering design of earth and concrete dams.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess;

* Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline e.g BEng (Civil)
* Proven technical engineering skill within dams and extensive knowledge of policy and regulatory requirements
* Previous active industry engagement and possess qualifications such as Chartered Professional Engineer status
* Technical competence to lead a specific team in a specialised area
* Demonstrated people and communication skills
* Broader leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate high performance, and manage change
* Demonstrated commitment to facilitate the development of team members including opportunities for continuous improvement
* Ability to work collaboratively at both an internal and external, client-facing level is essential
* Business acumen and proven track record in successfully delivering services to clients
* Experience in the management of medium to large scale projects.
