With an ever-growing pipeline of projects, they are currently looking to expand the existing team with an opening for a Principle Geologist within Brisbane.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assess training needs, providing coaching and mentoring of site staff, including geological modelling, resource control estimation, sampling and QAQC
  • Provide operational support and technical input as required
  • Lead and motivate staff to build a high-performance organisation
  • Maximise the value from our mineral resources, plant and equipment
  • Value enhancement through cost management and continuous improvement processes
  • Ensure a pipeline of quality projects to deliver growth in shareholder returns
  • Maintain and build on existing relationships to foster future development opportunities

About you:

  • Maintain and build on existing relationships to foster future development opportunities
  • Strong experience in Geological observation, particularly mapping and logging
  • A flair for 3D geological interpretation from primary geological observations and data.
  • Proven ability to collate data at all scales to test and develop geological concepts
  • Strong demonstrated operational knowledge, with a focus on resource and production geology and reconciliation
  • Strong understanding with the preparation of mineral resources and ore reserves
  • In-depth, up to date knowledge of the mining industry
  • Proficient in using Leapfrog, Minesight and/or Vulcan, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Advanced, hands-on resource modelling skills
  • Experience in production geology and value chain reconciliation
  • 15 years industry experience, with a minimum of 7 years in mine production environments, preferably both underground and open pit
