The Role:
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Safety and Risk Consultant to be based in our Aberdeen office. The role is an exciting opportunity to continue to build holistic HSE services within the Aberdeen market and to operate locally as well as globally with our established team. This is a staff role.

The candidate must have extensive experience within the oil and gas industry (and across other sectors is preferable), with an aptitude for technical and managerial issues central to technical risk services. A key aspect for this role will be to develop business so the individual must have an interest in business development and well established network and reputation within the Aberdeen market.
The candidate requires to be Degree qualified in either Science or Engineering.

Required skills and attributes:
* Experienced at chairing/facilitating formal risk workshops (e.g HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA, Bowtie, ALARP)
* Experienced and competent in both conducting and reviewing a wide range of risk studies and assessments, including:
o Fire and Explosion and Risk Analysis (FERA)
o Ship Collision
o Dropped Objects Studies
o Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Analysis (EERA)
o Essential Systems Survivability Assessment (ESSA)
o Smoke and Gas Ingress Analysis (SGIA)
o Temporary Refuge Impairment Assessment (TRIA)
o Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)
* Experienced and competent in developing and reviewing Safety Cases, Thorough Reviews and ALARP demonstrations
* Experienced and competent in developing and reviewing Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECE) and Performance Standards (PS)
* Competent at developing costed proposals including defining man hour requirements
* Confident networking and developing business relationship
* Mentoring and developing other team members
* Chartered Engineer or Professional Process Safety Engineer status
Desirable attributes:
* Operator approved (e.g. BP, Shell) for chairing HAZOP/SIL workshops
* TÜV Rheinland qualified for Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Assessment and SIL verification is desirable
* Experience with regulatory regimes outside of the UK
* Experience with multiple operators and EPCs/service companies
