The Role:
Job Purpose

The Engine Superintendent supports the organization and coordination of work of dry-dock, including programmed maintenance of equipment installed on board.

Key Responsibilities

*Oversees the entire engine department maintenance activities setting clear expectations that all work performed in the machinery spaces must be adequately supervised and carried out
*Maintains daily contacts with Engine Officers on board
*Verifies that vessel machinery and equipment is operated safely and maintained in accordance with Company standard and in compliance with international, national and Classification rule requirements
*Assists vessels in solving technical problems
*Ensures that the Engine Department is managed in accordance with Company Policies
*Supervises and controls the planned preventive maintenance
*Takes part in the Dry-docking specification, new projects, control of technical purchasing according to the minimum stock of critical spare parts and in the engine budget control, driving for efficiencies
*Performs inspections and audits on board ships
*Performs assessment of the Engine Safety Management systems and Engine Room Risk Assessments
*Drives an Energy Saving program
*Supports the Company Workplace Safety Program (accident prevention/organization structure: Accident/incident reporting incident investigation, initial response, preservation of evidence, written statements, root cause analysis, corrective actions standards and safety observations)
*Facilitates the free flow of technical information between the Office and the vessels
*Ensures that the Engine personnel understand and follow the Company Environmental Policy

The Company:
Job-Requirements: skills, competencies, experience

*Fluent in English, oral and written
*5-7 years experience as staff or chief engineer on board of cruise or tank vessels
*MS Office tools knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
*Good knowledge of Ship technical system
*Good communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong ability to prioritise and work effectively under tight deadlines
*Significant leadership and delegation skills
