The Role:
Acheson, Alberta

HDD Field Supervisor, Western Canada


Rig Manager is directly responsible for the crew and equipment on a horizontal directional drill project.
Position requires shift work, days, nights, weekends and overtime.

Ensure compliance with OHS, company policies and provincial/industry governing bodies
Ensure the successful installation of pipeline crossings with a strong focus on safety, integrity and customer service
Ensure compliance with company drilling procedures
Directly oversee the drilling operations and co-ordinate activities on site
Manage subcontractors
Interface with clients, and project managers
Prepare and submit reports as required
Provide onsite training for employees

Pipeline and Utility HDD experience required
Minimum 5 years leadership experience directing work on large HDD rigs (200k+)
Minimum 3 years operating HDD rigs
Experience installing and removing surface casing, and operating air hammers
Mechanically inclined with proficient understanding of diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical systems
Experienced with complex drill fluids systems, and testing protocols
Leadership for Safety Excellence
First Aid
H2S Alive
ABSA Special Oilwell Operator certificate
Minimum valid class 5 divers license, with clean abstract. Class 1 license beneficial
Computer skills, Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Adobe Professional, RivCross, Electronic Data Recorders
