The Role:
Act as an Area SC Lead electrical commissioning engineer.

Defines and maintains work processes within the team.
Manages a team of 4 Engineers providing day to day task management, work planning and overall technical guidance.
Be part of SC team responsible for managing the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the electrical generation and distribution network for the project.
Liaise with engineering, operations, construction, fabrication and completions teams on electrical commissioning issues.
Provide oversight of mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of Project substations being fabricated in Europe and Asia
Systemise electrical systems against current drawings
Attend site visits as required
Review and comment on engineering design deliverables & contracts
Input to Client commissioning planning for all aspects of electrical commissioning
Input to commissioning plans and execution documents
Write HV/LV Commissioning Procedures for overseas site Substations and Modules
Ensure correct assignment of pre-commissioning check sheets to tagged items and circuits
Ensure distribution system is commissioned in line with country & Regulatory requirements
Attend FAT's and inspections at vendor premises or designate accordingly
Responsible for leading commissioning of substation building services
Attend progress meetings with main engineering contractor & Client
Review / agree vendor FAT requirements on HV/LV Switchgear and Transformers
Create or amend relay protection check sheets (as req'd)
Co-ordinate commissioning spares lists for electrical equipment
Review electrical commissioning plan and advise amendments as necessary
Review current vendor drawings and commissioning documentation
Attend electrical progress meetings with engineering

The Company:
Our client is a major Oil and Gas Company

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally qualified to degree level
15 years relevant Oil and Gas industry experience.
Have significant experience of working on the commissioning of major
capital projects within the oil and gas industry.
Very strong experience commissioning HV / LV switchgear, transformers,
UPS systems, large variable speed drives, standby diesel generators,
electric heat tracing and cathodic (impressed current) protection
In-depth knowledge of electrical testing and procedures for primary and
secondary equipment such as protection relays, circuit breakers,
disconnectors, current and voltage transformers.
Ability to multi-task would be highly desirable.
