The Role:
Fircroft are seeking an IT/Telecoms Engineer for a long term contract within the UK

Location: Farnborough
Working Pattern: Mon-Friday (9 day fortnight, every other Friday off)
Day Rate: TBC

This position will be based in Farnborough with occasional travel to Atyrau and Tengiz.
This role is required to work within the IT Team to liaise with EPCm contractor, primarily in the review and comment on EPC design documentation.
Provide coordination support on network design and implementation. Attend design meetings, represent IT function and ensure response to design questions is coordinated across teams and response is timely.
Work within design team to develop and document requirements and translate, in liaison with contractor, to activity plans. Document and communicate plans to team and plan work schedules to meet project timelines. Interface to base business and Farnborough IT team to ensure plans are aligned and that priorities are communicated.
Work within IT team and with IT to develop OC for receiving IT environment delivered by project
Interface with IT for IT issues.
Technical experience in Telecommunications and Radio systems design and support - not less than 10 years
Excellent Planning and Organization Skills - Demonstrated planning and organizational skills specifically in a project environment.
Ability to develop standard designs in collaboration with others to include definition and update of the configuration templates radio network.
Technical education (Telecommunications or Automation/ Electrical/Instrumentation preferable)
Excellent communication skills: good verbal/ writing skills in English.
Ability to interface independently with multiple groups, contractors, customers
Problem solving skills (general and technical as well)

Team player with good project management skills who can play a significant role in complex IT systems deployment / implementation.
Ability to develop documentation and train users in efficient systems operations.
Ability to develop systems testing processes and work with customers to ensure systems meet requirements for operational handover.

Negotiation skills - ability to leverage relationships to achieve best available option relative to desired outcome.
Good IT process and service delivery skills.
ITIL service delivery knowledge preferred
Reliability focus with a track record of increasing service availability.
Proven ability to mentor others to develop the overall organizational skill levels
Fast learner
Flexible
Ability to work weekend and/or after hours as necessary
Role
40% Design development, document review and update.
20% Project Liaison and IT systems implementation planning.
20% Network systems design and implementation planning, oversight and quality assurance.
20% Interface and support with IT Team
