The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a mechanical & Piping QC Inspector for a long term contract position in Kazakhstan

Location: Tengiz
Rotation: 28x28
Accommodation/Flights - Provided
Day Rate: TBC

This position is open for both National candidates and Expats to apply

Inspectors shall have knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001: quality system requirements and implementation.
Must have excellent understanding of welding, weld symbols and weld inspection per the applicable welding Codes
Experience in welding inspection or fabrication of piping and vessels to
international codes (ASME, AWS)
Candidate Inspectors shall have a demonstrated background and thorough knowledge of codes such as ANSI B31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME section I, and other piping system installation related codes and standards.
Understands all aspects of quality, safety and security requirements in a Project environment
Must have excellent understanding of piping, pipelines and piping/coating inspection and piping systems
Familiar with anticorrosion and thermal insulation coating requirements
Ability to read, understand and communicate Project Codes and Standards
Ability to read, understand and communicate Project documents, including drawings, specifications and contract documents
Must be able to read, write, interpret and communicate (both written and verbally) detailed technical concepts in English.
Understanding all aspects of quality, safety and security requirements in a
Project environment
Ability to work as an interactive of multicultural team

Service Scope
Support construction of the Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC)
building:
Monitor all aspects of Quality Control relative to Mechanical / Piping and
Welding during the construction to ensure adherence to the Project technical requirements and applicable codes.
Reviewing and verifying completeness of piping test package(hydro or pneumatic) prior to testing.
Provide expertise to site team to avoid/resolve quality problems.
Provide early warning of potential quality problems and ensure nonconformances are identified, tracked and closed.
Provide weekly input to the QMS reporting system, with regards to trends and unresolved exceptions and problems.
Witness on site Piping / Mechanicals inspections, surveillances, walk down
Verify that all testing procedures have been approved and are on site.
Confirm testing parameters are duly recorded and that testing equipment is calibrated
Monitoring of weld procedures (WPS, PQR) and welder qualification
testing. Verifying dimensions, welder's certifications material certification
and traceability for all materials and consumables being used in
construction.
Monitor in process and hold point Inspection on equipment and/or
material during construction and/or assembly in accordance with the
CONTRACTOR's ITP.
Verify all the work is built in accordance to the design and verify against
approved drawings.
Monitor the effectiveness of the Contractor's material traceability process.
Monitor the weld preparation and welding process.
Monitor NDE and ongoing compilation of weld records.
Inspector shall demonstrate working knowledge of ASME, ANSI, NACE,
AWS, and API codes and testing equipment including Positive Material
Identification testing equipment required for the inspection of mechanical
commodities such as piping, pipe fittings, valves, etc
Attend and witness testing associated with piping and systems. Typical
tests include, but are not limited to NDE of designated components,
hydrostatic, pneumatic, coatings and others piping QC activities as
designated on the approved Inspection Test Plan for the contractor and
Subcontractors.
Ensure non conformances are identified, tracked and closed out prior to
acceptance of the work.
To support the development of Contractual Project Quality
Documentation (Quality Plan, ITP) in Piping / Mechanical works
Material (pipe and fittings) checking prior to spool fabrication to check if it
comply with the given standards and specifications
Inspector shall demonstrate working knowledge required for inspection of
work including but not limited to piping systems for pumps, motors, skids,
valves, compressors, auxiliary equipment, packaged equipment piping
systems, vessels, and tanks
Witness Contractor's activities and ensure Contractor's quality records are
acceptable.
Review or witness in process and hold point inspection during
construction in accordance with the CONTRACTOR's ITP.
Witness acceptance tests and perform final quality check prior to
acceptance
Where Nondestructive Testing (NDT) forms part of the work, the Inspector
is required to witness or review NDT results
Review Contractor's completion files for accuracy and adequacy
