The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Simulation and Control Analyst for a contract role within Kazakhstan

Location: Tengiz
Accommodation/Flights: Provided

Job Overview:
* Ensure effectiveness of Process Simulation for Operational Excellence
* Maintenance of Operational Capability by evaluating process automation training needs
* Actively participate in enforcing and maintaining site safety culture
* Provide DCS trainings as per FATP (Formal Automation Training Program) guidelines and maintain auditable and traceable training records

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Work closely with Operations, Maintenance and QA/QC group supervisors in enhancing the overall training process for the CDG group.
* Provide consultation, guidelines and technical expertise to plant ops and Automation group on DCS and PLC / SIS related issues
* Coordinate and assist in development and tracking of training materials for New Automation Engineers as per FATP Guidelines
* Provide advice to the CDG Operations Supervisor on Console Operators training to ensure it continues to meet FOTP (Formal Operations Training Program) guidelines.
* Maintenance and Instrumentation Upgrade of Process Training Unit (PTU)
* Development of Procedures and Training scenarios for Pressure, Temperature, Flow and Level Control.
* Demonstrate of Loop Testing Using instrumentation on PTU
* Develop of DCS Screens to simulate actual process control
* Configure IO points and control algorithms in DCS for PTU process control
* Provide support to other groups (Routine Duty/Procedures, Maintenance, Operations) during their testing on PTU
* Works with Automation Supervisors to ensure training material are up to date and used to support the objectives of the business.
* Responsible for updating and maintaining the training hardware and software on the Simulators with an estimated value of $5M, including supervision of the Simulation Support engineers and liaising with offsite support engineers. Also ensuring the simulators are up to date with revisions through the MOC process.
* Responsible for ensuring that all Automation Engineer training modules and tests are up to date (per schedule) and are maintained Fit for Purpose in accordance with RoK and Company policies and regulations. To also include development of new modules as the role of training Automation Engineers expands.
* Responsible for development and training of New Automation Engineers in varying processes and operations.
* Responsible for development advice for the Project simulator design by incorporating lessons learned from existing simulator design and usage.
* Provide Allen Bradley Control Logix and HIMA trainings as need arise.
* Coordinate with Automation for offsite trainings or enlist the services of subject matter experts (SME) from the plant.
* Coordinate with Automation supervisors and QA/QC in finalizing training budget for the whole year.
* Conduct audits of Safety and Compliance Trainings to maintain high operational excellence
* Feedback in the hiring of personnel, cross training of new and existing Automation personnel, development of National workforce.
* Responsible for continued improvement of the CDG Simulation & Controls web page, to ensure all materials are up to date and available to our customers.

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer and / or Control Systems Engineering / Industrial Engineering
* Minimum 5 years' experience as a Control Systems Engineer
* Background in PLC (HIMA and Allen Bradley Control Logix), DCS (Honeywell Experion and Honeywell TPS) and SCADA (Honeywell Experion)
* Knowledge of Honeywell Simulation Software (UniSIM / Uni Design) / AspenTech Hysys is desirable.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision
* Committed to safety and a safe working environment
* Excellent Written, Verbal and Speaking English Language (IELTS band 6.0 or above is desirable)
* Excellent interpersonal skills, able to clearly communicate
