The Role:
This role is open to different levels of engineers (including experienced Design, Senior or Lead Engineers) who have specific depth of experience in chassis steering, brakes and suspension design/development.

- Provide leadership of the design and engineering of chassis systems
- Lead other members of the team to prepare 2D concept sections, 3D part models, 3D assembly models and any associated 2D drawings as required
- Provide input data to CAE and support any other Vehicle Engineering activities
- Liaise with styling to support feasible design solutions with regard to manufacturing and assembly
- Coordinate with other Principal Engineers and Project Managers to ensure technical targets, program timings and budgetary requirements are met
- Liaise with the Prototype Workshop to provide feasible design solutions and support workshop activities pre, during and post-vehicle build
- Schedule design activities to meet engineering deliverables that deliver to required specifications within timescales and budgets
- Contribute to complete and effective engineering plans and schedules, including planning own activities

- Minimum 5 years' experience of design and development of a range of chassis systems
- Supervisory, leadership or mentoring experience of colleagues
- Some experience of hand calculations/FEA would be beneficial, although this will be primarily managed by the FE team. Ability to use motion solve, Matlab and Altair packages would be a definite advantage.

- Understanding of bush design for NVH, ride & handling

- Good working knowledge of ABS, ESC and TC

- Knowledge and experience of EPAS, active suspension systems and torque vectoring
- Motorsport or high-performance (low volume) vehicle experience is of particular interest
