The Role:
Main Responsibilities
* Accountable for your own HSE performance.
* Support the project verification processes including identification and management of major hazards and inherently safer design.

Key Interfaces
* Engineering focal point within own engineering area
* Ensure that the lead discipline engineers and Field EM are kept informed of design issues and key decisions.
* Ensure that adequate input is provided from the engineering team to procurement including reviewing key deliverable
* Support systems engineering and cross project interfaces

Delivery & Assurance
* Own key documentation in engineering area
* Provide direction and guidance to the engineering contractor on specific technical issues and queries.
* Consult with Project Operations as required on technical issues and to ensure operator alignment to the design and any deviations
* Escalate unresolved issues of engineering integrity
* Ensure all deviations from the approved standards, project specifications and processes are identified, requested/processed in accordance with appropriate procedures, fully justified technically, and authorised before implementation.
* Advise on Engineering Technical Practises and codes and standards.
* Review and endorse contractor and vendor design deliverables in accordance with agreed approval matrix and timelines.
* Provide technical advice on issues resulting from the management of change processes through independent assessment of the risks/opportunity afforded by proposed change, review of the key documents and technical arbitration.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Accreditation with recognised Professional Body.
* 10+ years relevant engineering experience in oil & gas projects.
* Site / shipyard fabrication and completions system experience.
* Good understanding of gas processing design and operational requirements.
* Understanding of hull / marine system operational requirements.
* Familiarity with IEC standards relevant to electrical systems design.
* Working knowledge of Hazardous Area Classification, Equipment Selection and Inspection.
* Knowledge and practical experience of electrical and instrument/telecom construction materials, methods and testing.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Need strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese
* FPSO fabrication experience desirable
